Quotes 5

How to get the last word during an argument- make an apology.
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

Lighten your burdens and drop that grudge! It’s said that having a spirit of non-forgiveness is like drinking poison- and waiting for the other person to die!
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

Quotes 4

A great cure for turmoil, anger, fear, and doubt is silence. Let this silence be a time of prayer, or self-reflection, or even appreciation for all that God has blessed in your life. Take just a moment for yourself by giving that moment to God. Just stop and listen to what God may be wanting to share with you.
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

Silence is a great peacemaker. –Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Quotes 3

The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone. –Harriet Beecher Stowe

You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it. –Margaret Thatcher

Quotes 2

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.” -Erma Bombeck
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

Be connected to your world. Whatever you are doing in this moment, really experience it. Too much of our lives are spent in the “maybes” or “could bes” - so much so that the joys we could experience now are overlooked and lost in the reflections and yearning for the “never weres” in our lives. Living is a verb, a word of action, and not just a period of sleepwalking between dreams and disappointments. Whatever you do, do it, truly experience it, make it a moment that matters to you so when you do look back, you have a treasury of accomplishments savored, and not unhappy regrets of lost time and opportunity.

Quotes 1

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not our circumstances. –Martha Washington
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

Purge, Purge, Purge! We simply have too much stuff. Possessions take up space, time, money, and emotional energy. And quite often, we are expending these valuable resources on something we haven’t used in five years! If an item is beautiful, useful, or loved, keep it. If not, clear the decks. A good rule of thumb is, “If you haven’t used it in the last twelve months, you probably won’t use it in the next twelve.”
Fletcher, Jim, and Roger Howerton. Simple Tips for Simple Living - For Women. New York: New Leaf P, Incorporated, 2003.

New Years Eve

Sloppy. That’s all I can say. Yikes. Mark and I had a group of people over on New Years Eve. We had about ten-fifteen people… in our one bedroom penthouse… lol…. It was garbage. I forgot how much stress it is when you are the host. People were cramped in to all areas of the house, passing out in the bathroom, spilling drinks left and right, and popping champagne bottles from our balcony.

Needless to say, I was extremely happy when the cabs came to pick us all up to go to the club at eleven. We danced all night and kissed at midnight. And came home to a destroyed crib… all 1,000 square feet. Yikes. But everyone seemed to have a good time and I didn’t hear any complaints (except from Mark and I as we cleaned everything up).

Let’s just say that next year FOR SURE we will not be the hosts for the New Years Pre-Gaming. It is just way too sloppy.

New Book

For Christmas, my Grandma Crowley bought me a book: Simple Tips for Simple Living for Women. It is an inspirational book from New Leaf Press. I feel the need to share some of the tips:

Simplicity is the attempt to see clearly- to know what’s important and what matters most. It’s taking stock of your life and stripping away the inessential. At the heart of simplicity is the process of self-examination and self-discovery--- deciding what you need to be happy. Simplicity is the age-old search for happiness. It is the art of living fully and being fully alive.

Jen's 21st Bday

0o0oo0o man... this was a sloppy night... for all of us... haha*

Yelling at Tom

Not sure what is going on in this video. It is from a campout we had at Mark's Dad's a few years ago........ Enjoy

Hurricane Ernesto

Mark and I ran the Virginia Beach Mini Marathon in 2006. Hurricane Ernesto went through Virginia Beach the day before we got there. That was lucky. Unfortunately, that meant that we had to drive through Hurricane Ernesto on our way to the Mini Marathon. Yikes. It was absolutely dreadful! One of the scariest things we have ever done, for sure! I had to go to the bathroom, we were almost out of gas, and trees were falling down all around us. We had nowhere to go. Everything was shut down. Luckily, I had my camera to document the occasion. We stopped in at a McDonalds where I [unsuccessfully] attempted to use the restroom…..

boooooo

Yep, the Colts are done for the season.... I have to say that I am extremely disappointed... So is the hubby.... The great thing about living in Indy is this:

Today at church, we had a moment of silence for their loss!!! BAHAHHAHAHAHAHA*

I'M NOT KIDDING, DAD!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!! :D

Oh well, until next season.. I guess the Bakers are Giants fans for now... :D

Mouse Hunt

My parents live in a rural area. Field mice commonly get into the house when people leave the doors open, or if they are ninjas…. They don’t last long in our house. “Oh, you have a cat?” You ask…. O0o0o0o0 no! I have something better…. *duh*duh*duh*…. MY DAD!

That’s right! I think my Dad is quite the ninja himself! He has killed many a scary little creature for his girls in his day. My husband also has had some experience in the mousekateer murders… He chooses to stomp them. Dad chooses to feed them poison until they explode…

On this day, though… the tables turned… Mark, Dad, and I were at the house watching football. Dad saw a field mouse out of the corner of his eye… After turning the ENTIRE LIVING ROOM upside down LITERALLY, Mark and Dad were ready to kill the poor little guy. I was sitting on the bar like any sane girl would… But I didn’t forget my camera!

O0o0o0o the memories!

Enjoy!
