Another note from August 2....
I was in the wedding mood while I was cleaning the other day, I guess, huh?
Anyway, I was thinking about how perfect that day was and realized how 'us' Mark and I made that day. There were several personal touches we added that day: The kiss, the flowers, the slideshow, the dance, the lack of cake, the outfits... pretty much everything.... There was another thing I loved... The Unity Ceremony... Mark and I used yellow and black SAND as our Unity Ceremony. I was black and he was yellow. I think the mixing of the sand symbolized so much for us:
We came together that day but didn't lose sight of our individuality.
I likey.... A lot........

Speaking of my wedding dress....

I know that when I get my dress cleaned, I am supposed to get it preserved. But what the heck is that supposed to do? Am I supposed to just lock my dress in a closet until my daughter wants to wear it? ((And I am very aware she won't want to))... Hmmmmm.. I'm looking for things to do with it... Creative.... and useful... Any Ideas?

So I have yet to get my wedding dress cleaned. I'm lazy. But the other day I was cleaning my room and opened up the dress bag. Words cannot describe the level of endorphins that are released when I just SEE my wedding dress.
I always knew that day would be special. I had no idea the reactions and emotions I would feel when I looked at momentos from that day. Mmmmmm......

Like you didn’t see this coming…..
So obviously the movie inspired Mark and I to start a Bucket List of our own. Obviously the list is going to change/update throughout our years together, but this is what we came up with so far. Some of these are from other blogs/websites I saw when I googled “My Bucket List.” I don’t want to take full credit for them. Whew… Here goes….

Bucket List Favs
The other night, the hubby and I watched The Bucket List. It is a good movie about two guys who are diagnosed with cancer. They decide to live life to the fullest until their last day....
One of my favorite parts of the movie is when the two terminally-ill guys are racing classic cars. One is driving pretty erratically and the other one says to him, “You are going to kill us!”… The erratic driver’s response? “What if I do?” lol I love it! It made me smile that they were so happy and living life to the fullest.
Another favorite part came when the two men were sitting on a pyramid in Egypt. They are talking about how the Egyptians used to believe you could get into Heaven. When you died, you went up and were asked two questions to see if you got to go in:
1. Have you had joy in your life?
2. Have you brought others joy in your life?
Mmmmmm.. Something to think about…..
My last part is something that was said during the movie: "Stars are like little holes in the floor of heaven." What a yummy quote.

January Family Night
Friday the Second of January, the Alexander crew came to Indy! This was a Christmas present from my parents. They got two rooms: One suite and an adjoining room for the eight of us. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Michigan Street. It has an indoor water park attached to it. It was a lot of fun. Here is how the night transpired:
We met at the hotel and headed to the water park. That is when I realized how many kids were at the same hotel I was. Don’t get me wrong, kids are cool. Kids in mass quantities? Not so much. Haha* so0o0o0o0o0o I was completely freaked out by the kids, so we left. We headed to the pool inside the hotel.

While the fam played chicken in the pool, I went to meet my husband in the lobby. He put his stuff in our room and headed downstairs with us. When he took his jacket off, he had his arm covered in a tattoo sleeve! S0o0o0o0o classy! Haha* He’s so funny! My mom hated it, but my brothers both loved it. We actually ended up giving it to them because they liked it so much.

After the pool came the hot tub.. then ten minutes in the waterpark before it closed…. then out to din din. We walked to Texas Roadhouse because it was right across the street. When the twenty minute wait we expected [because the chick on the phone told us so] turned into 25 minutes, Dad was ready to leave. We hadn’t been there for twenty five seconds!
We all went to Buffalo Wild Wings instead. Mark, Evan, and Dad decided they had to try the Blazin sauce. Blazin, for those of you who don’t know, is the insanely hot (hottest) BBQ sause BW3’s carries. There is a great video to show reactions:

Then I tried to be nice and make a snack for my family. I heated up some tortilla chips in the microwave and started tidying the hotel room. THREE MINUTES LATER I remembered the chips. I opened the microwave (briefly) then closed it frantically! I started running around a freaking out because I just KNEW I was going to set off the smoke alarm!!! I was so nervous!!! Turns out, the alarm didn’t go off, but the chips were burnt to a crisp.

Overall it was a wonderful night with the family! I was so happy my Mom could schedule that for all of us! I really enjoy spending time with them! It also makes for great memories… and there’s always some sort of adventure mixed in….. lol

After dinner we all headed to the room to play games: Seinfield Scene It and Apples to Apples. We realized that Evan is a machine at Seinfield Scene It and Dad is a sore loser at Apples to Apples. We also found out we are a loud bunch. I think we already knew this, but it was reaffirmed when a security guard banged on our door and told us hooligans to settle down. Oh sheesh.
