Rant

There is someone out there for everyone. I have proof.

The other day I was at the gas station picking up a polar pop. There was a guy getting a Mountain Dew when I was pouring my Diet Coke. These are important details. Haha* I got behind him in line. He asked the attendant for a single Swisher Sweet Cigar. After he paid $1.81, it was my turn.

Then the cat held the door for me. He walked to his van and got in. His van was already running. These are the type of people you have to watch out for. When they are not afraid to leave their car unattended and running while they purchase their single cigar and Mountain Dew, you know they have a gun to protect their schnizzle.

As I got into my car, thug mansion rolled down his passenger side window.... Oh man...

"What's your name, girl?" he asked.

I laughed and just said "Uhhhh...Sorry." And got in my car.

WHAT THE HECK!??! Did he really think he brought his A game? Do you think spending $1.81 at the gas station and hopping into your van afterwards merits you talking to the chick who clearly hasn't showered today? Did he really think I thought he enjoyed the taste of cigars sold in singles?

I really need to shower before stepping into public. Even if I plan to spend less than a dollar.

What the heck was that guy thinking, anyway? I only like boys who drink Mello Yello.

Advice From Our Speaker

Below is advice from the speaker from one of my meetings today. Great job, Lyndia! :D

Be more concerned about your character than your reputation.
Your character is who you are. Your reputation is only what others think of you. Know the difference.

Dont compromise your values.

Think outside the box.

Spend money for making character, but don't spend character for making money.

What do you think about when you are along in your room? What do you love? Do THAT.

Halfway

The other day I was talking to one of my fellow co-workers about my plans for the future. She stopped mid-conversation and made the following observation:

"You don't do anything halfway, do you?"

Which got me thinking.... Nope. I don't.

She used the followingexamples:
You want to start running; you run marathons.
You want to start volunteering your time; you want to sign up for the Peace Corps.
You want to travel; you move to Europe for four months.

Wow.... She was right. I don't do ANYTHING halfway. At first I was offended. Then I thought about it.
THANK YOU! I take it as a compliment that I put my whole heart and sole into something when I put my mind to it! I am very driven and determined. If someone says I can't do it, that gives me twice as much incentive TO do it! Then I pondered it some more. WHY am I like that? ... 0o0o0o Yeah! I'm my Daddy's Daughter! :D

My dad doesn't do things halfway either. That man commits his whole being to whatever he is doing. His intentions are good in whatever he does.
He wanted to get my Mom a good birthday present; he bought her a car.
He wanted to start working out this year; he bought a treadmill AND aWii Fit.
He wanted to have people come over and watch the SuperBowl; he boughtthe largest plasma TV he could find.
He wanted to improve the driveway to the house; he had it blacktoppaved just like the roads.

So THERE! :) I'm not sorry.... :-)

Wait, I thought, surely I half-@$$ some stuff. Cleaning! There's one! I don't value cleaning WELL. So there. But that is pretty much it. I still think I'm a freak of nature.

Devotion

I get free daily emails from Christianity.Com. These are uplifting devotions and I LOVE them. They are short and sweet. There are some that I especially love and MUST share. Below is one:

Devotion: Is the glass half full or half empty? Is it partly sunny or partly cloudy? Perspective makes all the difference.

Even for strong Christians who are grounded in their faith, discouragement can easily sneak its way into hearts and minds as life deals us chaos. As we struggle with the challenges and difficulties of everyday life, or things that happened to us that were unfair or unwarranted, it is easy to get pulled into a habitual mindset of negativity. Just like that old song from the '80s says, we may find ourselves asking God, "What have you done for me lately?"

Our answer to that question will depend entirely upon our perspective. God does more for us each and every day than we deserve, but it's so easy to lose sight of the good, because we are caught up in the reality of the bad. How do we combat this perfectly human attitude?

Prayer.

Resolve to have an attitude like Christ.

Take inventory of our every blessing.

Life. Your every breath. Your every heart beat. A spouse or loved one. Children. Clothes that need to be washed because God gave you clothes to wear, and a way to wash those clothes. Good health to help those whose health is failing. Trusted and educated doctors to treat you when you are facing health challenges. A house that needs cleaning. A car to drive. The ability to purchase gas for the car. A job to go to. The ability to be a stay at home mom or wife. Healthy kids who can play music or sports. Friends. Family. Freedom. Jesus. Eternal life.

What is on your inventory list today? If you were honest with yourself, would you say you have been looking for the positive aspects of the situations in your life? Are you considering how God could be using those things to draw you closer to Him? Or have you been primarily focused on the negative?

During times of negativity, we actually become our own enemy. We wage a battle in our mind because we look at our situation from our own perspective, instead of what God may be doing through our situation. So in order to change our minds, we have to choose to change the way we think -- our perspective. Attitude is a choice.

Winston Churchill once said, "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." What do you usually see?

To quote an old cliché, today is the first day of the rest of your life, and it is never too late to become an optimist! I have heard it takes 21 days of doing something for it to become a new habit. The more you practice challenging your thought patterns, the more automatic it will become. Changes may not take place immediately, but over time, the challenge gets easier, and optimism becomes the norm instead of the exception.

Are you willing to take the challenge to become an optimist today? The rewards of looking for God's goodness in every situation will be a healthier and happier heart.

Dear Lord, help me with my human tendency to be critical or look for the negative in situations. Forgive me for a lack of gratitude for all You have given me. Thank You for Your patience with me as I strive to be a Godly example. Guide my heart to recognize You at work, instead of seeing things from an earthly perspective. Lead me into a closer relationship with You by helping me remember to count my blessings every day. I n Jesus' Name, Amen.

From Mark Mmmmm.... It is this text that I HAD to save. I love it. I love him so much. This text is so yummy. (Sent two days after our wedding)
Sometimes I send Jenny texts just to make sure the Rapture didn't come. I sent this when my family was at a gas station where there were cars at ALL THE PUMPS and NO PEOPLE anywhere. She texted back letting me know her Grandma was still on Earth, so we were good. :)
Sent one hour and 50 minutes before I walked down the aisle
From the Departmental Days. This was sent to Mark a LOT while I was in that rotation. This text was sent on NOVEMBER 17 AT SIX THIRTY AT NIGHT!! Boooooooo

Another Pacers Game! :-)

Mark and I went to the Pacers VS. Cavs game on Tuesday night. When tickets are only $10, why the heck wouldn't you go?!?!
It was a great game! ((If you can't tell by the score above!!)
This score made it even better! WAAAOOOOHOOOOO!!!! I wonder if they are still LeBron James fans? haha
I'm a fan of this guy... Yummy......
This goes with that video.... :-)

<3 Love <3

Wow. I know that no one cares about this, and it is almost weird to post but I am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Mark is the most AAAMMMAAAAZZZZIIIINNNNGGG man ever. He couldn't make me happier. He is patient and kind and loving and strong. I have noticed one flaw though... He holds me tighter in the morning when my alarm goes off.... Which then makes me look homeless for work. :-)

Love you, Markie!

IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY.

We went to Katie and Ellen's apartment on Friday to celebrate Katie's birthday. This was the banner hanging in the living room. It was absolutely amazing.
We celebrated by shot-gunning beers. Yikes. That.was.a.bad.choice.
I just can't do it like I used to....
This is Gabi. She is in Departmental. ((that is the department where I used to be))
I asked her how she was doing. Her response: "I'M SO TIRED!"
She's been there two weeks.
Ellen and her bf.... they are oh so cute!
It took a REALLY long time to get a girls pic. I think alcohol was a factor.
The birthday girl with the boys.
The birthday girl with my boy.
Girls picture attempt number 2,367.
It was a good, sloppy night overall... :D
Happy birthday, Katie!

Mmmmmm

Mark bought me a bouqet of chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day yesterday! They were absolutely amazing, just like him! I have an AMAZING husband and VALENTINE! :D

CirQUe DU s0LeI

Last night Mark and I went to Cirque du Solei downtown. It was so amazing! Mark and I really enjoyed it! Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed into the event, but if you have the opportunity to see it GOOOOOOOO!!!!
