My attempt at being a housewife

So I've been sick all day. I mean I really feel like garbage. Like I was hit by a bus then a midget came up and pounded my head in with the latest copy of Vogue. Why'd it have to be a midget you ask? I think they would hit harder. Closer proximity to the ground that I was laying on after being hit by the bus. It makes sense.

Okay.... So that has NOTHING to do with this blog post. The other day I got the urge to cook. This has NEVER happened. If you are my Mom, Grandma, or Sister who attempted to let me join in the annual Christmas bake fest, you would understand my frustration with everything that has to do with baking or cooking in general. No thanks. So this was a huge step in my attempt to be a good wife. Baby steps. So I looked up quick and easy recipies. Because that's about as much as I can handle....

Mark and I went to Wally last week and got all the necessary supplies for the 8-10 recipes I printed. There were ingredients I LITERALLY had never heard of. We got them all.

So the first planned dinner was today. I was supposed to make it, but was curled up in the fetal position on our rug in the living room when my -hungry- husband got home. He ended up cooking the dinner. That isn't to say there wasn't complaining. Not about having to cook the dinner, but having to put such random ingredients together. I didn't think it was so bad... Let's see... Ingredients include:

QUICK AND EASY CASSEROLE
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. hamburger
1 can tomatoes
1 can vegetable soup
1 box macaroni and cheese dinner
1/2 cup bread crumbs

Y.I.K.E.S.

Let's just say Mark was right to complain. This seems like something that wouldn't even be served at a disaster relief event. I mean this stuff is straight up garbage. It tasted just like what you would think raccoon and veggie soup mixed together would taste like.

If you are still wondering, come on over and you can try it. We.Have.Plenty.Of.Leftovers.

I guess I will just stick to blogging and leave the cooking attempts to the other women in my family. :D
