Halfway

The other day I was talking to one of my fellow co-workers about my plans for the future. She stopped mid-conversation and made the following observation:

"You don't do anything halfway, do you?"

Which got me thinking.... Nope. I don't.

She used the followingexamples:
You want to start running; you run marathons.
You want to start volunteering your time; you want to sign up for the Peace Corps.
You want to travel; you move to Europe for four months.

Wow.... She was right. I don't do ANYTHING halfway. At first I was offended. Then I thought about it.
THANK YOU! I take it as a compliment that I put my whole heart and sole into something when I put my mind to it! I am very driven and determined. If someone says I can't do it, that gives me twice as much incentive TO do it! Then I pondered it some more. WHY am I like that? ... 0o0o0o Yeah! I'm my Daddy's Daughter! :D

My dad doesn't do things halfway either. That man commits his whole being to whatever he is doing. His intentions are good in whatever he does.
He wanted to get my Mom a good birthday present; he bought her a car.
He wanted to start working out this year; he bought a treadmill AND aWii Fit.
He wanted to have people come over and watch the SuperBowl; he boughtthe largest plasma TV he could find.
He wanted to improve the driveway to the house; he had it blacktoppaved just like the roads.

So THERE! :) I'm not sorry.... :-)

Wait, I thought, surely I half-@$$ some stuff. Cleaning! There's one! I don't value cleaning WELL. So there. But that is pretty much it. I still think I'm a freak of nature.
