BBBS

So Mark and I signed up for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. To prevent carpal tunnel, I will refer to it as BBBS from now on. We are both very excited about being paired with a ‘Little’ for at least a year.

To give you the details, you must commit at least one hour a week for at least a year. The children are selected to be in the program by those around them. They are willing participants in the program. They are between the ages of 8 and 14.

Mark and I asked for the youngest kid possible. We are hoping to be paired with a little boy (Couples usually get boys) between the age of 8 and 10. Surely we can commit an HOUR a week to do something fun with him!

We are so active now, that it will be just like having another friend along for the ride! We love going bowling, attending sporting events, plays, etc. Now we will just have a little one in the backseat!

This is the closest we are going to get to having a little one anytime soon. (We hope) But we ARE SO EXCITED to have the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful program. It is very important to us to get involved with our community!

Right now we are still in the interview processing stage. We filled out an online application, then a 12 page application, and then each got three references. Now we are waiting to schedule a date for the personal interview. Say a prayer that we get into the program! If we do, I’m sure you will see/hear PLENTY about our adventures over the next year!
